The Project was a not-for-profit venture conceived and executed by the Division of Visual Arts of the State University of New York at Purchase. It was meant primarily to be a teaching tool, making available to students a variety of today’s most provocative and accomplished artists as lecturers and role models. Students were also able to observe more than half of the visiting artists producing their prints and at times could assist them. ” – Irving Sandler.
