Graphic ElementAs a painter, I focus on the beauty and universality of the landscape as subject matter. I capture the formal elements of color, tone, and space in their simplest forms, in order to evoke an immediate emotive response. In my artwork, the image itself becomes secondary to the overall surface and treatment of the subject. Arbitrary and natural colors are present in my work, and these color choices reflect my internal relationship with the landscape. I select specific locations derived from life to which I feel a strong psychological connection, and strive towards expressing these emotions in a sensitive, subtle manner.
