|There is a beauty in the simplest of things. All of my subjects are chosen for their aesthetic appeal – a pleasant line, subtle repetition, unique color. A vegetable, a board game and a lace curtain each a functional object, yet each is ordinary and silent. Their existence shapes ours, influencing us every day in all the smallest ways with an artful subtlety.|
I make art which reflects how I live, finding subdued joy in the simple beauty – unexpected elegance in the curve of a vegetable, beautiful color in the tarnished brass of an old bell. It expresses my preference for the quiet and the overlooked, and their ability to affect people more profoundly than any bold statement ever could.
