|My works are conceptual in nature and deal in sociopolitical issues. My objects comprise multifaceted layers beginning with a common object. These common objects are altered to define another process or state. The literal is then transformed beyond that layer to explore a sociopolitical consciousness.|
I attempt to provoke thoughts from an unaccustomed position, so the viewer might go away with an altered or revisited perspective. I strive for a neutral ground, as many political works tend to verge on the negative. I try to allow the viewer to pick through the layers: to interpret, to process and to rethink.
