Collection Of The Artist
James Lahey studied art and architecture in Florence, Italy, and went on to receive his BFA degree From York University in Toronto in 1984, where he still lives and works.

"In the modern age, built upon centuries of "pollutions", Dostoevesky wrote: "Only beauty is absolutely indispensable, for without beauty there is nothing left in the world worth doing. Here is the entire secret; all of history, right in a nutshell." …The path for Lahey is marked by his on-going journal of sky, land and ocean, horizon and phenomenon, the limits of tools - paint, canvas, brush and knife - but the possibility of expanded and limitless invention.
