The Kent Collector was founded in 1974 by George and Gladys Spector.
The Kent Collector is a tri-annual journal, published under the auspices of the Rockwell Kent Gallery and the Docent Program of the Plattsburgh State Art Museum, State University of New York, ans is devoted to the life and work of Rockwell Kent and American Art of the first half of the twentieth century.

Plattsburgh State Art Museum Opens Exhibition of Drawings by Rockwell Kent
Rockwell Kent’s philosophy about the character of his drawings is evident in many of the works selected for this exhibition.
While he would actively sketch images in thumbnail size as well as full scale, once he found the image he was looking for, he would work a drawing down to a single line that would illustrate mass, form, and emotion.
The exhibition was organized by Cecilia Esposito, Museum Collections Specialist, from the extensive Plattsburgh Kent Collection..........

New Acquisitions
The Grand Piazza, Giovanni B. Piranesi, 1749, etching engraving and dry point.
Japanese Lacquer Buddhist Altar donated to the collection by Carolyn Bardos of Lynne, New Hampshire, has been authenticated by a curator from the Smithsonian Institution, Freer Gallery of Washington, D.C., and dated approximately in the Edo period mid 18th century.

The product of a close administrative collaboration between the Art Museum and the Art Department sculpture program, it created a unique multi-level education network on campus and beyond. The Museum Without Walls program continues throughout the campus. Works can be viewed in buildings throughout our campus including the Myers Fine Arts Building, George W. Angell College Center, Feinberg Library, Champlain Valley Commons, Kehoe Administration Building, Yokum Hall, Hawkins Hall, Ward Hall, Hudson Hall, Redcay Hall, Sibley Hall, and the Center for the Study of Canada.
