# 7, Inner Silence, 2001
oil on canvas, 30" x 36"
Art means so many different things to me. Since I was young, I knew I wanted to be an artist when I grew up....I still do. I had the advantage of growing up in a large family, there was always plenty of excitement and plenty of people to draw. I started painting in high school and knew instantly that painting was where my heart was. Now, I mostly paint figuratively with oils. I choose subjects that are close to me, my family, friends and myself. I studied in Florence, Italy spring 2000 and was taught painting in a traditional manner. I try to bring my life experiences as a student in both Italy and Plattsburgh State to the canvas. Art is all around us; a form of expression. Painting is one of my forms of expression. I paint my troubles, my happiness, my anxieties and my love.

The Plattsburgh State Art Museum is comprised of over 4,500 works of art, representing numerous regions of the world, from the ancient to the contemporary. Works are displayed within our three main galleries, an outdoor sculpture park and exhibition areas throughout the campus. These facilities produce over twenty-five exhibitions a year of both a national and regional nature. Expanding upon the pluralistic ideal of Andre Malreaux's concept of a "Museum Without Walls," the Plattsburgh State Art Museum has become an open visual art resource for the College and the Champlain Valley/Adirondack Region.
