What inspires an artist to do what they do? I believe itís what fascinates him or her. What fascinates an artist like myself is art that can tell a story. Most of the paintings I create are narratives of everyday life. Whether it is circumstances of being wrongfully accused, lost, or simply strolling down a grocery store aisle trying to decide what to make for dinner, these situations all tell some kind of story. These stories can evoke a certain mood, or mock society, or give a message that is left up to the viewer to perceive. Sometimes the situations given are obvious, and other times it gives the option to wonder what exactly is going on, but either way some sort of narrative is always involved.

Artists like Eric Fischl and Norman Rockwell are great inspirations to me. Both are skillful artists not only in the technical aspect of painting, but also in using their imagination and creativity to intrigue the viewer. The mind, like everyday life, can be very random and bizarre. I try to exercise my thoughts and experiences through my paintings.
