Museums and their exhibitions are of great importance to the culture of our society. They are places where individuals gather to present their ideas and feelings about the world around us. They are the arenas for the battles that define our lives, such as race, class, gender, and self. We, as artists, seek to break down these concepts and reassemble them, giving our society a new understanding of the fundamental beliefs that we take for granted. The art displayed in this show speaks to the change and vivaciousness that is required for our generation. This show is a proclamation that we will usher in a new way of thinking, believing, and dreaming.
