I began my college career as a painting and drawing student.
After transferring to Plattsburgh State and taking a few
photography classes, I became aware of how much happier
I was making art in this medium. However, the skills and the
creative eye that I had developed from years of painting were
never forgotten. With this knowledge, I found I was able to
transfer these skills from painting to photography. Some of my
photographs are simply about light and shadow, while others
have a deeper meaning. They are about discovering beauty
where it isn’t usually found.|
Currently my work is going in an unexpected direction. This series is about the sensuality, femininity, and the beauty of girls at different ages in life. Although most of my models are family members, it is not a generational series. Instead, because of the anonymity of a lot of the images, it is a series about the cultural influences on women and their sensuality throughout several decades.
I attempt to make the ordinary extraordinary and to make you look at things in a way you normally wouldn’t.
