WQKE, The Quake is broadcast on 93.9 FM in Plattsburgh, New York. The college radio station is supported by the Student Association of SUNY Plattsburgh. The station's studios are located in the Angell College Center on campus and the antenna is located on the Kehoe Administration Building, which is one of the tallest buildings in Plattsburgh. With adjustments made at the station in the fall of 2009, The Quake now broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the each semester, offering listeners a wide variety of music including: jazz, funk, soul, indie, punk, hip-hop, blues, techno and other genres.
The Quake is the college's student-run and operated, Class D FCC designated on-air broadcast radio facility. The Quake's alternative college-radio format broadcasts 10,000 milliwatts of power to both a campus-wide and a local community audience on 93.9 FM. WQKE also reaches out through the Internet with its music, talk shows and sports programming.
